The International Workshop on Cloud Cooperated Heterogeneous Networks organized by the ICT EU-Japan MiWEBA Steering Committee and held in conjunction with IEICE SR Technical Committee 2013 October Conference, 23 - 25 October, 2013, Osaka, Japan is now cordially inviting your participation.

We will have thirteen interesting invited talks by specialists from both academic institutes and industrial companies, following by a panel discussion on the latest research topic of Cloud Cooperated Heterogeneous Networks. Especially, we will focus on the aspect of efficient deployment of future heterogeneous networks where wideband mm-wave small cells are introduced inside the coverage of conventional micro-wave marcocell. A banquet dinner following the workshop will be organized for both the speakers and the workshop participants.


Due to explosion of smart phones and tablets, mobile data traffic increases exponentially which pushes evolution of the current cellular networks. The increasing rate of the traffic is about 2-fold per year. It indicates that at least 1,000 times system rate improvement is needed to accommodate increased traffic in 10 years. A promising approach to solving this problem is the novel cellular architecture of cloud cooperated HetNet with heterogeneous deployment of base stations connected to C-RAN for enabling cooperated transmission. Especially, tremendous capacity enhancement can be realized through introducing ultra wideband mm-wave small cells inside the coverage of conventional micro-wave cells owing to advancement of mm-wave technologies nowadays. The main objective of the workshop is to offer an opportunity for academic and industrial researchers for spreading and sharing the latest research results and discussing about the future of cloud cooperated cellular networks embedded with ultra wideband mm-wave small cells.
